Think a Minute: Have you ever felt like you are a slave to the future? Does worry over tomorrow consume your thought life? Is your life hard right now? Let me give you a word of encouragement this morning. Do not be frustrated; God is having His way in your life. Jesus said, “In this world, you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
My friends, our hope should not be that our plans will work out like we want, but in the tender mercy and grace of Jesus. With Jesus we can face today with His peace. In John’s Gospel, chapter 16, verse 33 He said, “I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have peace.” When we stew over our future plans, frustration will sweep over us like a cold, misty fog folling in from the ocean. Dread will replace the innocent trust we were having in Christ. Jesus said in Matthew’s Gospel, “Do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself.” Believe Him when He says that. Trust Him to take care of you, even if it leads down a hard road. Believe that He has only your best interests in His heart and surrender tomorrow to Him. Please remember, He loves you with an everlasting love. Surrender your frustrations and ambitions to Him!
Prayer for the week: “Lord Jesus, I have been frustrated about my future, nervous about my life. I confess that I have not trusted tomorrow to You, but I have been seeking to orchestrate my own future. Help me to be content with my life, and to take no thought for tomorrow. I will trust You. Amen and Amen!”
