October 2019
Change is upon us as the leaves are falling, and the temperature is dropping. The book of Ecclesiastes 3:1-10 reminds us that there is a season for all things.
A Time for Everything
For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven:
a time to be born, and a time to die;
a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted;
a time to kill, and a time to heal;
a time to break down, and a time to build up;
a time to weep, and a time to laugh;
a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together;
a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
a time to seek, and a time to lose;
a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
a time to tear, and a time to sew;
a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
a time to love, and a time to hate;
a time for war, and a time for peace.
It is interesting that several thousand years ago the prophet Solomon penned these words that seem so appropriate for us today.
The world seems to be in a constant state of change and our church is no different. Recently we changed the format and content of the weekly worship bulletin. The change allows for easier production and also provides a cost savings. Thank you all for your suggestions and comments for this change.
Another change the Mora Church is experiencing is the addition of a staff position. Ben Ziegler joined the staff on October 4, 2019. Ben is excited to lead our children and youth programs and we are excited to have him on-board. As Ben gets up-to-speed you will have the opportunity to meet him and his family. We are so excited he has joined our staff.
Change will continue and I’m glad it does. Without change I think we will wither away. With change we will face head-on the season God has us in and for that I am grateful.
Blessing to all
Pastor Deb
