Administrative Council Meeting – August 13, 2015
Present: Robin Priebe, Betty White, Maree Nordenstrom, Melanie Halverson, Jan Anderson, Pastor Rob Pesola, Dick Smith, Carmel Gorham, Ruth Smith, Naomi Schultz, Pat Gorham, Edna Cole.
Meeting called to order by Chairperson, Robin at 7 p.m. Pastor Rob led in prayer.
Servers: Betty/Maree presented a proposal for all households in congregation to participate in hospitality outreach by preparing and serving coffee and snacks before Sunday services. Upon motion by Carmel/Pat carried and approved, plan to be set in motion with letter to be sent out explaining changes and requesting cooperation. Scheduling will be coordinated with office.
Minutes of meeting reviewed and upon motion by Pat/Jan carried and approved. Pastor Rob led prayer.
Pastor: Vacation August 16 – 24, Val will fill in both churches, confirmation letters out.
Financial: Financial Secretary’s report presented by Jan. Upon motion by Pat/Carmel report approved. Treasurer’s report given by Dick and approved upon motion by Jan/Naomi. Discussion on Challenge Grant, offering of electronic transfers, and other issues.
Trustees: Discussion on carpet replacement in social hall, Pat will secure prices and project will be presented to Memorials as a need. Memorial monies received toward kitchen flooring project. Parking lot striping beginning and possibility of a bike rack to be explored.
Christian Education: Successful VBS with 10 -12 students, Confirmation class organizing, youth will have a food booth at classic car show on August 21, garage sale planned for fall, planning mission trip for 2016.
Worship: Praise Team begins Sept. 13, plans for a musical group again next summer, working on opportunities for greeters/ushers, hymn sing on 3rd Sundays.
Men’s Club: Summer picnic – September 3.
Other: New Church pictorial directory as a fall project.
