Council Minutes for March 10, 2022

APPROVED MINUTES – March 10, 2022

Church Council meeting.

Chairperson Valerie Prax called the meeting to order at 6:40 pm.

Valerie read from ‘Jesus CEO” and opened with a prayer.

Those in attendance meeting were Phyllis Roseberry, Alan Roseberry, Janell Anderson, Rhonda Stegeman, Carmel Gorham, Valerie Prax, Melanie Halverson.

The Secretary’s report was approved M/S/C Rhonda/Carmel

Financial Secretary’s report was approved M/ S/C Janell/Melanie

Treasurer’s report was approved as presented M/S/C Carmel/Phyllis

Finance Committee: Besides reviewing reports on a more regular basis, Phyllis and Valerie are looking into contracts/licenses to make sure there is no overlap. – The Church financial audit is completed this includes the general account, the Men’s Club and WICS.
Trustees March 17th there will be more trees removed. The annual parsonage walk-through was completed and there isn’t much to be done before the new appointment. A suggestion was made to take down the floating shelf in the Fellowship hall. It is a hazard to small ones and in the way for funerals/larger events.
SPPRC: Pastor Deb will not be back. There was a meeting with DS Susan N. The Conference is working on an interim appointment and a permanent appointment starting in June/July.
Worship: Meeting 10:00 am Monday, Cheri Jacobson joining the worship committee and Praise Team
Missions: No report
Christian Ed: No report
Memorials: No report
Technology: Rod will train someone if someone is found on the MEVO
WICS: Pancake supper went well, we served 70 some people.
Men’s Club: Pancake breakfast will be served Easter morning.
Other business items:

  • Worship time, do we want to consider a change to an earlier time? Will this affect our ability to have a pianist/organist?
  • There was discussion on other items that need a procedure and/or volunteers…. Inclement weather, recorded music when we have no accompanist , updating the road sign, updating Facebook, updating bulletin boards, and the list goes on.
