APPROVED MINUTES — January 9, 2020 Church Council meeting.
Valerie called the meeting to order at 6:30 pm. and Pastor opened with a prayer
Those in attendance were Pastor Deb, Phyllis, Al, Steve, Jan, Ben and Janell.
Pastor’s Time: Pastor shared with us that there was a member that said he felt there was a positive feel in the air at church, that it was a good year. Church Conference is January 25th at 10:00 am. End of year stuff for both churches approval of budget and 2018/2019 PEF Interest dispersal. Our DS Susan Nienaber will be there and after all the end of year topics are done she will talk and take questions on what is happening in the wider United Methodist Church. Pastor Deb is continuing with Leadership Academy. Book Study is on going. There is another 1 step group that would like to use the church. The Grant will be paid out in February 1 and August 1. Valerie and Janell will put their heads together and ask a couple people to be on a directional group for the use of the funds and a vision for the Youth and Children of the church and the community. Ben and Pastor Deb will announce what the grant is for, and that we were privileged to receive it and that we are looking for members to help guide the use and vision for the funds.
It seems like it is time to have a retreat to work on visioning and maybe a new mission statement. There are plans to update the website as well.
