Mora United Methodist Church
Administrative Council Meeting – September 15, 2016
Present: Robin Riley, Ruth Smith, Val Prax, Jan Anderson, Dick Smith, Janell Anderson, Carmel Gorham and Edna Cole.
Meeting called to order by Chairman, Robin at 6:30 p.m. Minutes of meeting reviewed and upon motion by Val/Carmel carried and approved. Carmel led prayer.
Financial: Financial Secretary’s report was presented by Jan, upon motion by Janell/Val, approved and passed. Treasurer’s report presented by Janell, upon motion by Jan/Ruth was approved and filed for audit.
Trustees: Work progressing on parsonage maintenance update on schedule. Donated television antenna has been installed.
SSPR: Pastor Deb Schaffran will begin her duties in the Mora/Ogilvie parish on Sunday, September 18 expecting to be at full duty and moved into the parsonage by November 1. A welcome for she and her husband will be held on Sunday, October 2 and a Meet & Greet with the JAS families is scheduled for Wednesday, October 5. Other plans for acquainting congregation with pastor will be planned as time goes on.
Christian Education: The first day of Children’s Church on Sunday, September 11 went well with 7 children participating. Feedback was favorable. Teachers have volunteered and are scheduled for the next few weeks. Confirmation plans will need to be finalized as soon as possible.
Worship: Committee is finalizing plans for upcoming weeks.
WICS: Chili/Pie supper planned for Thursday, October 27 is on schedule. Blessing Bags will be prepared for school needs.
Missions: Feed My Starving Children has 35 people planning on participating on October 15, carpooling from church at 3 pm.
Other: Highway cleanup is scheduled for Sunday, October 9th with backup day in case of rain for Sunday, October 16th. Discussion held on use of name tags at upcoming church services.
Meeting Adjourned at 7:30 pm. Next meeting to be held on Thursday, October 13 beginning at 6:30 pm.
