Administrative Council Meeting – October 8, 2015
Present: Robin Priebe, Melanie Halverson, Naomi Schultz, Larry Brettingen, Dick Smith, Janell Anderson, Pastor Rob Pesola, Edna Cole, Ruth Smith.
Meeting called to order by Chairman, Robin at 7 p.m. Minutes of meeting reviewed and upon motion by Janell/Naomi carried and approved. Pastor Rob led prayer.
Financial: Financial Secretary’s report presented by Janell in Jan’s absence. Upon motion by Ruth/Melanie report approved. Treasurer’s report given by Janell and upon motion by Ruth/Larry report approved. The two reports were in balance.
Trustees: Information was shared on approximate costs for replacement of kitchen floor covering and carpet in social hall as received from Zimmerman’s. Discussion on the possibility of carpeting using 30” squares as has been done in other schools and businesses which allow for replacement of a single or multiple squares in the event of mishaps. More information will be sought with a target date for completion early in 2016. Discussion also held on updating the wall coverings in social hall. Memorial funds will be utilized as appropriate.
Pastor Rob: Details given on Pastor’s upcoming schedule. November sermon series will be on Thankfulness. All Saints Day to be celebrated early November. Mora UMC will host Ecumenical Service at 7 p.m on 11/25. Confirmation has begun. Plans for new membership Sunday. New Bible Study series to begin Monday.
Christian Education: Sunday School numbers are down. Jesus After School has begun with good attendance. Youth schedule has been set through December.
Worship: Children’s Christmas Program scheduled for December 13.
Missions: 30 individuals scheduled to participate in Feed My Starving Children/Oct. 10.
Men’s Club: Clean-up night was held, some painting on building completed.
Other: Chili/Pie supper scheduled for Oct. 22. Donations and workers needed. Arm will be added to television mount to facilitate easier movement as soon as possible.
Meeting Adjourned at 8:05 pm. Next meeting to be held on November 12.
